The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is a department under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India.

It assists the central government in its effort to build a strong startup ecosystem and in formulating various policies relating to foreign direct investment (FDI), intellectual property rights, and so on.
